Cinderford TriangleFollowing the article in the Gloucester Citizen, on Friday 6th November 2015, and the article in The Forester on Wednesday 11th November 2015,  releasing information that Charles Dave Harvey had been accused of sexual offences, the reports state that a statue of Mr. Harvey was on display in the centre of Cinderford.

Cinderford Town Council wishes to make clear that the statue in the centre of Cinderford is not in fact a statue of Mr. Harvey, but a generic model sculpted by Anthony Dufort.

The plaque on the statue is inscribed:

‘A tribute to the miners of the Forest of Dean, commissioned in the year 2000 by the Cinderford Labour Party and Cinderford Town Council’

Although Mr. Harvey had acted as a model for the sculptor, the statue had been unveiled by ex-miner Eric ‘KY’ Warren to recognise the mining heritage of the forest.
