View North from the Triangle TowerAfter a month of success for the first webcam, Cinderford Councillors voted unanimously to install a second webcam on the Triangle Tower. Responding to feedback that people would like to see more of the Triangle, the second camera will look the other way down the High Street.

In its first month of operation, the first webcam has increased the monthly number of visitors to the Town Council website by 6000 and driven page views up by over 1500%. Cllr Chris Witham said, “Whilst social media is a great tool for reaching a wide audience, it is important that we also interact with the public through our website and it is great to see this increase in engagement.” The webcam has had interest from over 20 different countries and past Cinderford residents now living in Australia have expressed their appreciation for being able to see their previous hometown.

Cllr Mark Turner explained,”The second camera can also be repositioned easily and will allow us the option to live stream events like the Remembrance Day Parade and CindyFest from a different angle. This will allow people who can’t get to the Triangle to be part of important events in the town.”
