Tour of Britain to visit Cinderford

On Thursday 8th September, stage 5 of the Tour of Britain will roll through Cinderford. Travelling in from Speech House, the race will ride up St Whites Road before heading down through Littledean.

There will be around 120 of the world’s top professional cyclists taking part in the race including Mark Cavendish riding for Dimension Data. In all there will be 10 World Tour Teams competing in the Tour of Britain.

Road closure and parking

Please be aware there will be a rolling road closure in operation on the route of the cycle race. Police marshals will stop traffic at junctions 5 – 10 minutes before the lead cars and the race will take approximately 25 – 30 minutes to pass through the respective sections of the route. Advance warning signage will be erected on Thursday 25th August and the same week a leaflet will be delivered to every residence and business along the route.

There will be no official parking restrictions but the organisers kindly request the assistance of residents in moving cars for a couple of hours either side of the race, particularly on St Whites Road.
