Crochet for the Royal British Legion

Crochet poppiesFollowing the positive comments received from decorating the town centre last year to mark Remembrance Day, Cinderford Town Council are hoping to increase the display for this year.

Council Employee, Ms Lesley Fennell (who also works for Biffa) has offered to crochet 3,000 poppies to decorate the town centre and raise money for the Cinderford Branch of the Royal British Legion. The poppies will be used to create a display on the front of St Annal’s House where the Remembrance Day parade will start.

If anyone has any red wool or black buttons they would like to donate or would like to sponsor Lesley, please call into Cinderford Town Council at the Belle Vue Centre.

  • Does she need any help as I might know someone good with a crochet hook?

  • Email the pattern. Will do some, even a lot or however many you want.

    • Many thanks for your kind offers of help. I understand that Lesley wants to complete all 3000 herself as the challenge she has set herself but I will pass on your comments.
